F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers is a Thai adaptation of the classic Japanese manga Hana Yori Dango, blending school romance with real social issues like bullying, class differences, and gender equality. The series gained massive popularity across Asia and launched the careers of its main and supporting cast.

The Thai adaptation of “Meteor Garden” (Thai: หัวใจรักสี่ดวงดาว, English: F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers) aired in 2021 and is based on the Japanese manga Hana Yori Dango by Yoko Kamio.
The series includes real-life Thai social issues such as school bullying, wealth disparity, and gender equality, adding depth and realism to the storyline and characters.

Story Overview

The female protagonist, Gorya (played by Tu), comes from an ordinary family and works hard to enter a prestigious high school, only to unexpectedly become the target of F4’s pranks. The F4 members are influential figures on campus, not only possessing attractive appearances but also coming from wealthy and powerful families. However, they also face pressures and loneliness that outsiders cannot understand. The romantic connection between Thyme and Gorya reflects class differences in society, making their story both touching and thought-provoking.

As the story progresses, Gorya’s strong personality and sense of justice gradually influence F4’s behavior and mindset, especially leading Thyme to reevaluate his views on life and love. Despite numerous challenges in their relationship—including family opposition, societal judgment, and personal struggles—they do their best to protect their feelings for each other.

Other members of F4 also have their own compelling side stories involving friendship, dreams, personal growth, and emotional struggles, enriching the overall narrative. F4 Thailand is not just a romantic school drama; it also presents sincere friendships that transcend social classes, shown through the emotional bonds between characters.

Not Only F4’s Rise to Fame – Supporting Cast Also Gained Popularity

The actors who played F4 rose to fame thanks to this series.
Bright (as Thyme) and Win (as Kavin) were already popular from the BL series 2gether: The Series. Bright has since left GMMTV to start his own entertainment company and focus on music. Win continues to take on new projects, including co-starring with Tu in the Thai remake of Scarlet Heart. The high-quality promotional trailers and strong casting released by GMMTV helped build significant anticipation for the series.

Dew (as Ren) and Nani (as MJ) also gained popularity quickly. Dew’s melancholic aura and deep portrayal of his character attracted a large fanbase, leading him to star in various idol dramas alongside famous actresses. Nani’s natural acting skills boosted his acting and fashion career, making him a top pick for brand endorsements among the younger generation.

Milk (Pansa Vosbein), who played Lita—a character who complicates the main couple’s relationship—gained attention for her unique charm and refined looks. She later starred in multiple series, especially the GL series 23.5 When the Earth Is Spinning Around alongside Love (Pattranite Limpatiyakorn), which quickly gained popularity. Their pairing, known as “MilkLove,” became a hot topic both in Thailand and internationally.

Fourth (Nattawat Jirochtikul), who played Gorya’s younger brother Glakao, left a strong impression with his natural and heartfelt performance despite limited screen time. He later gained fame through My School President, forming the popular “GeminiFourth” pairing with co-star Gemini (Norawit Titicharoenrak). Fourth is now active in both acting and music, and is a favorite among brands.

GMMTV is not only skilled at producing high-quality idol dramas, but also excels at integrating cultural and real-life elements, making their stories more relatable. Watching the Thai version of Meteor Garden provides not just romance and emotion, but also a visually and emotionally rich experience with Thai cultural elements.
